FAMILY – GENERAL DOCTOR m.d.
ACTIVE MEMBER OF ACADEMY OF SCIENCES OF NEW YORK, WHO’S WHO
IN THE WORLD, ACADEMIA DEL FIORINO AND I.S.G.W.
ATHENS
The very Reverent Daniel Sapikas (baptized Panagiotis) comes
from, on his father’s, Efstathios, side, Mytilene, where his
grandfather lived after the Asia Minor catastrophe. He comes
from Asia Minor also on his mother’s, Nike Bobonis, side.
That is why he takes great pride in his ancestry, saying,
that “the roots of the Asia Minor civilization where I come
from make me proud because it is the continuation of
Hellenism throughout the centuries”.
His father lived in Mytilene until 1947 and then moved to
Athens where he worked in building constructions. He met his
wife, with whom they had four children, among them Daniel.
His mother and grandmother, deeply religious women,
contributed to his becoming a priest, because they instilled
in him the feeling of religion and his love for the
suffering fellow man.
The Very Reverent Daniel Sapikas was born in Athens on
November 18, 1949. He finished his studies at the Primary
School and High School of Kesariani.
In 1972 he graduated, with honors, from Rizarios
Ecclesiastic School of Athens. During his studies, he was
taught Byzantine and European music by a great teacher and
professor, Mr. Dim. Panayiotopoulos - Kouros, graduating

European and Byzantine music.

University of Athens.
